Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some of the most common questions we get asked about Satellite Dish Removal. If you still can't find the answer your looking for, please contact us below.
First, we drill out and remove the plastic or metal anchors. Then we clean the hole with a small wire brush and blow out all the dust in the hole, so we have a clean service to bond the filler. We then fill the hole with a high-quality polyurethane caulk to keep the water out.
Wires are removed from the back of the dish to one of the following points:
- If the wire enters the home, we will cut it at the point of entry and remove the plastic bushing and fill the hole.
- If the wire enters a junction box, we will cut the wire at the junction box.
- If the wire connects to a splitter, we will cut the wire at the splitter.
Unless otherwise negotiated, all the brackets are removed whether they are mounted to the roof, side of the home or on the fascia board. Brackets that are mounted on the roof shingles can be left in place for weatherproofing or can be removed for an additional cost.
All holes that we create are sealed when we are finished the job. On any exterior walls such are vinyl, brick or stucco we use either a professional grade caulk or our commercial grade tar tape. Any holes from the roof are filled with tar tape multiple times to ensure a clean and durable finish.
Satellite dish receivers, like most technology, are outdated from when you install them. The satellite TV providers have no use for the old receivers and won’t remove them for you. It costs the Satellite TV Providers more money to come to your property, remove the satellite dish, and dispose of it than it would cost them to just make and install a brand-new satellite dish receiver.
Most light duty towers that we take down are either rusted or bent in some way or another. We usually just take them to the local dump for recycling. If you would prefer to keep the structure on the ground or just a few sections, let us know and we can cut you up a piece or two.
